This week from March 6 to 11 they launch ARTform, an international fair that showcases three-dimensional art which has attracted an array of big-name galleries from throughout the United States, Canada and Europe.
As the name implies, ARTform covers a host of media, including ceramics, furniture, glass, sculpture and jewellery.
This new fair focuses on an aspect of the market which is very much on the rise during a lean time for the trade overall. “We have invited dealers representing artists that reflect the growth and cross-fertilisation of form with different media in the 20th and 21st century,” says fair director David Setford.
Among the many well-known names whose work is represented are Dale Chihuily, Christo, Botero and Lynn Chadwick.
Like the other IFAE fairs, ARTform is held in the grand tent known as the International Pavilion of the Palm Beaches in downtown West Palm Beach. Admission is $12.
Florida adopts a new form
WEST Palm Beach, Florida has become quite an international cultural destination in the past few years, largely due to the energy of local fair organisers International Fine Art Expositions, who have successfully staged the Palm Beach International Art and Antique Fair and ArtPalmBeach, an acclaimed Modern and Contemporary show.
