Nowhere was business brisker than at what for seven years has been the most important of these shows, top London dealer Eskenazi’s annual exhibition at PaceWildenstein on East 57th Street.

This year’s featured 18 Chinese works of art from the world-famous Stoclet Collection. By the end of the first day eight of the exhibits had been sold, all to private collectors, including at least two from Europe.

The Eskenazi exhibition closed on April 5 and next week’s Dealers Diary in Antiques Trade Gazette will round up both the selling exhibitions and the International Asian Art Fair, which was at the hub of the Asian celebrations.
