“Taking this decision has been very hard for us” said Jason Franks, managing director of dmg European Fairs. He explained: “Late last year, with the support of our stallholders and visitors, we made the decision to change the fair venue from Wembley Exhibiton Centre to Brunel University. Unfortunately the fair has not been as successful as we hoped so we have decided to concentate our effort on the fairs that are already performing strongly.”
Among those dmg fairs currently peforming strongly is the long-established Ardingly event at the South of England Showground.
The most recent on July 22 and 23 attracted just under 1700 stallholders and many of them reported their best two days business for a very long time.
The fair attracted more buyers than any Ardingly since 1997 and on the second day the gate was 21 per cent up on the same fair last year.
