From October Anderson & Garland will take over the lease on the building and intend to run the company much as Mr Robertson has done since the 1960s with a quarterly catalogue sale and general sales every two weeks.

In keeping with Mr Robertson’s desire not to mar the appearance of the building, A&G will not have a sign outside the saleroom (their logo will instead appear in the window) but one future change will be the introduction of a digital camera and a computer for emailing images – a revolutionary step for a company that currently does not even own a typewriter.
