Lloyd Loom is probably the best known name in the field and became synonymous with wicker, but it became the absolute depths of fashion in the decades following the War only, like so many other things, to become quite chic again during the past decade.

This is their latest creation, the Randi Sofa, sculptural with a contoured shape and yet we are assured remarkably comfortable. It is constructed from a rattan pole frame covered with woven wicker and in the same collection comes a club chair, ottoman, chaise longue and loveseat.

FOR a while now wicker furniture has been fashionable. It dates back to Ancient Egypt and from the 1870s to the 1930s was very popular indeed, moving indoors from the porch and summer house and being used extensively in cruise liners and airships.
