Mr Devenish, who was on the point of opening a new Manhattan gallery, was renowned as one of the world’s leading furniture dealers. Mr Traylen, the undisputed doyen of the antiquarian book trade, celebrated 80 years in the business in 2001, and Mr Koopman was a director of the celebrated firm based in London’s Silver Vaults.
Trade mourn leading figures
The trade were in mourning last week following the deaths of New York-based dealer Tom Devenish, aged 84, Guildford dealer Charles Traylen, aged 96 and London silver dealer Michael Koopman, aged 56.
