If you are a furnishing fabric aficionado or are looking to recreate a 1960s interior, there’s a small feast on offer at Christie’s South Kensington next week. The auctioneer’s have a whole cache of Sixties textiles from Heals of London to offer in their Modern Design auction on October 16.

These aren’t just small pieces to hang on the wall, they are whole rolls of mint condition, unused fabric some up to 40 metres long, that were recently discovered in a retailer’s warehouse. Over 30 different designs feature including several by top designers like Barbara Brown, Lucienne Day or Evelyn Redgrave and Peter Hall whose Tivoli fabric is shown here draped across a c.1950 settee attributed to Ico and Luisa Parisi.

The 29 rolls will be offered as six lots, each containing from six to nine rolls, with estimates ranging from £800-1200 to £300-500. A must for the Sixties look on a grand scale.
