Posters dominated the content and the sale’s best-seller was this rare set of five lithograph posters from 1917 by Burkhard Mangold detailing the winter sporting delights of Davos.
They sold for £15,000, the lower end of a £15,000-20,000 estimate, but nonetheless established a new auction high for a ski poster, beating the £12,000 paid in the auctioneers’ sale last year for a poster of Gstaad.
