Over 700 lots worth of surplus treasures and belongings, amassed over the years and long stored away, will be put under the hammer on Wednesday, March 13. As the auctioneers explain, items on offer range from the historic and beautiful to the utilitarian.

Silverware, furniture, ceramics, garden furniture, prints and militaria all feature. Highlights include pieces of Derby porcelain decorated by factory artists, two campana-shaped vases made from the celebrated local Blue John stone and a pair of silver food covers by Paul Storr. In addition, as befits the sale title, there are also sections devoted to the attics and the stable blocks which feature a wealth of vintage household effects, items typically associated with any sizeable contents dispersal and just the ticket for accessorising that fashionable country house look.
