Running from January 22 to 27, The Decorative Antiques and Textiles Fair will again offer the design business a service not provided by the more mainstream fairs. Founded by London dealer Patricia Harvey, she continues to exhibit at her own event and this month will offer this piece, which is perhaps typical of this fair: a large painted military drum c.1900, which has been converted into a coffee table. It costs £1200.
Drumming up business
NEXT week the British fair, which some 17 years ago was the first to cater seriously for the home and, more importantly, the transatlantic decorative trade, opens in its marquee at Battersea Park.
