For the past four years Mr Gorton has been hall manager of Olympia so he not only knows the venue well but also has first-hand experience of the last nine antiques fairs.
Mark Saunders, director of Clarion’s Consumer Division, said: “Dan will bring a fresh perspective to the fairs. He is an excellent communicator and has real enthusiasm for his new role. He is a great listener and is quick to understand the needs of the customer, which makes him ideal for the job.”
Mr Gorton, who before joining Olympia spent nine years in the Army Intelligence Corps, said: “I can’t imagine a more exciting and challenging job. My previous work with Olympia is a strength and I am looking forward to working with the highly motivated team, and the dealers, to ensure the continued success of the fairs.”
Dan Gorton, who replaces Victoria Borwick at the helm of the Olympia fairs, takes up his appointment this week at the Spring Olympia where he will introduce himself to exhibitors.
Clarion appoint new fairs director for Olympia
CLARION Events, the organising arm of Olympia, have appointed Dan Gorton, 34, as fair director for the three annual Fine Art and Antiques Fairs.
