The crystal goblet, engraved with the image of the Houses of Parliament and the legend: In appreciation of your loyal support & effort. Edwina Currie MP – Election 1983, was entered for the October 24 sale at Richardsons of Bourne, Lincolnshire, by a local source.
Richardsons are hoping the recent revelations about Edwina’s affair with John Major will give the bidding a fillip, but have refused to say who entered the goblet in the sale – ‘I am sure our client would prefer to remain anonymous,’ said auctioneer Chris Richardson.
