While it was the only fair in town, British exhibitors returning after the fair closed on December 4 confirmed the general opinion that the venue Madison Square Garden is just not the place for a quality antiques fair.

But some business was achieved by exhibitors, many of whom took a high standard of stock to the event. While the fair could not be called a success, it had its moments, such as the manuscript Los Angeles specialist Lee Biondi sold to a new client for more than $200,000.
