The number of redundancies – anticipated as a result of the duplication of roles and expertise following the merger with Phillips – is expected to be more than 100 and possibly as many as 150, although with staff negotiations continuing, no final decisions have been taken, Mr Brooks told the Antiques Trade Gazette.
Also key to the restructure will be the merging of Mr Brooks’ three companies – Bonhams & Brooks, Phillips, Son & Neale, and the Brooks classic car operation – which are currently conducting business separately.
