An 1850, first bookform edition of David Copperfield, bound in similar style in blue crushed morocco gilt and inset with a portrait of the young Dickens, went to Bromlea & Jonkers at £1900, while a 30-vol. Chapman & Hall set (1874-76) of the latter’s works, bound in half red morocco by Mudie, went to Cumming at £2100.
