The Firewall Gallery, which opens this month, will provide an international platform for faculty members at Boston area colleges and institutions. The ongoing programme of sponsorship and patronage will provide the display venue as well as sales of the artwork, which will be offered as part of Skinner’s auctions of American and European paintings and Prints – the next sale is on September 22.
First under the spotlight will be Barbara Moody, a professor at Montserrat College of art in Beverly, Massachusetts, and Diane Ayott, an assistant professor at Salem State College in Salem, Massachusetts.
Colleen Fesko, director of Skinner’s department of American and European Paintings, said: “As New England’s foremost auction house, we recognise these contributions made by artists in our area. These professors give a lot, and we at Skinner would like to provide a venue through which their work may be viewed, and in some way demonstrate appreciation for their efforts.”
