This means Mr Morris has assumed direct managerial responsibity for all the group’s antiques events, which include the three annual Fine Art and Antiques Fairs at Olympia and the more recent Great Antiques Fair at Earls Court.
In his dual role Mr Morris will divide his time equally between the Halls business and Clarion business.
The new managing director replaces Jonathan Goold who decided to leave earlier this year, although he will continue to work with Mr Morris on a part-time basis until Christmas and then act as a consultant to Clarion for a further year.
Andrew Morris told the Antiques Trade Gazette: “In assuming direct control of Clarion I will be able to play a key role in delivering the company’s ambitious growth targets, and affect beneficial change more rapidly.”
He has already made an impact by restructuring the company into three divisions with Victoria Borwick responsible for Art and Antiques. The Trade division will be headed by James Brooks-Ward and the Consumer Division by Mark Saunders.
