Champin said he was “satisfied” with the Senate reading, which was held in an “excellent spirit and very constructive” and now expects the bill's final reading at the Assemblée Nationale to take place “in the next four to six weeks”. Although he predicts that “a handful of differences between the two (parliamentary) houses will probably remain to be settled by a bicameral commission” he is confident that the bill will become law by the summer and take effect next autumn.
