A combination of stylistic details, the stamps for ébéniste Georges Jacob, inventory marks and other branded details revealed it to be the documented throne chair commissioned by the Comte d’Artois and supplied to the Pavillon de Bagatelle in 1784 to be used at a special event by Louis XVI.
