Ten decades of motoring at Gateway Auctions

Based in Lancashire, Gateway Auctions has more than two decades of experience selling plant and construction equipment in timed online sales; this auction is its first of classic cars.

The vehicles are available to view on site at Gateway's premises in Whalley from Monday February 20 to Wednesday February 22 but there is also a set of images online for each car, along with a walk-around video and lengthy lot descriptions in the auction catalogue.

Bidding ends on Thursday February 23.

Here we have picked 10 cars from the auction, each one from a different decade, spanning the 1920s to the 2010s. They highlight the different types of vehicles on offer.

1920s

This 1927 Gwynne 10 1274cc three-door tourer is eligible for entry to the Vintage Sports Car Club and is estimated at £9000-11,000.

1930s

This 1938 Rover 10 1398cc four-door saloon still has its original registration number.

1940s

This 1947 Austin 8 1056cc four-door saloon has just 37,000 mile on the clock.

1950s

This 1956 Mercedes Benz 300 Adenauer three litre automatic four-door saloon is estimated at £30,000-£35,000.

1960s

This 1967 Triumph convertible is estimated at £24,000-28,000.

1970s

This 1970 MG B Roadster 1798cc convertible is estimated at £6000-8000.

1980s

This 1985 six-wheel Range Rover is estimated at £8000-12,000.

1990s

This 1990 Reliant Robin 850cc three-wheel two-door saloon was built as a tongue-in-cheek tribute to the Ferrari brand and bidders seem to like it.

2000s

There has been brisk bidding already on this 2000 Rolls-Royce Silver Seraph 5.4 litre V12 four-door saloon.

2010s

This 2013 BMW 1 Series NGTC British Touring Car is estimated at £40,000-50,000.
