Made from injection-moulded polycarbonate, the pair were made in Italy and feature the manufacturer’s mark. Bieffeplast Boby trolley
A legendary piece of design history, the Boby trolly won designer Joe Colombo first prize at SMAU Industrial Design in 1971, and a version is in the permanent collection at the MOMA. Forget all that – it’s also a handy portable storage system. Made of cream ABS plastic with eight separate storage compartments including fold out shelves and black castor wheels, the trolley comes from a private collection and comes to market at Shapiro Auctions of New York on April 16 with an estimate of £200-300. Sometimes you still can’t beat the classics. There is a wealth of Victorian furniture to be found out there, including pieces like this mahogany chest, fitted with two short and two long drawers.
