Spare cash before Christmas? Treat yourself to a stylish brooch at auction
17 December 2021 With perhaps fewer Christmas parties this year you might have a bit of spare cash to treat yourself at an auction next week. This Egyptian goddess in the Art Deco style in silver with black and coral enamel is estimated at £100-200.
If so, a stylish brooch might just be the thing for you.
According to a recent article in the New York Times, although brooches were previously “considered stodgy and trite” and “seriously out of fashion ever since the power-suit-ridden ‘Dynasty’ years” they are now in fact making a comeback and the “brooch is ripe for a revival”.
From Lady Gaga to diplomat Madeleine Albright, brooches are back on the lapels of the rich and famous and now you can bid for your own.
