Here is a selection of Easter related collectables available at auction this month.
Surprise egg
Silversmith and designer Stuart Devlin (1931-2018) made a number of ‘surprise’ eggs for Easter. Fellow silversmith Nicholas Plummer continued the tradition and this example, marked for London 2004, reveals a posy of snowdrops inside.
Sheep ornaments
This collection of seven Beswick figures, comprising three ewes, four lambs and a sheepdog, is estimated at £40-60 at David Duggleby Auctioneers on March 31.
Religious porcelain egg
This 19th century Russian porcelain egg on a gilt ground decorated with an oval panel depicting Christ and the Virgin Mary. It is estimated at £200-300 at Hutchinson Scott on March 28-31.
Tunbridgeware egg
This Victorian Tunbridgeware wooden egg and separate egg cup (accompanied by chamberstick, match box and onyx egg) is estimated at £150-200 Woolley & Wallis on April 4-5.
Staffordshire chicken
This Staffordshire pottery chicken and basket for storing eggs is estimated at £40-60 at Huntly Auctions in Aberdeenshire on April 9.
Rabbit sculpture
A rabbit and bird sculpture on offer at William George’s timed sale which ends on March 29. It has a starting bid of £12.
