From tables to truncheons: interiors sales have it all

This George III mahogany and tulipwood tea table (c.1790) has a folding top, making it easy to put to one side when not in use. The estimate is £300-500.
Taking place on October 17, the Interiors sale at Dreweatts in Newbury, Berkshire, is no exception.
Here is a small selection lots from the almost 300 available to whet the appetite.
Desk
This Edwardian mahogany and inlaid kidney-shaped writing desk c.1905 is estimated at £400-600.
Rocking horse
Dating from the mid-20th century and later restored this Lines Brothers Sporty Boy rocking horse is guided at £700-£1000.
Wine cooler
Perfect for when you're hosting a large gathering this late 18th century mahogany and brass bound wine cooler has an estimate of £300-500.
Kilim
This Bessarabian kilim (a flat tapestry-woven carpet or rug) measures approximately 480 x 245cm and is estimated at £600-800.
Vase
By Emille Galle (1846-1904), this art nouveau cameo glass vase is estimated at £150-200.
Lighting
This 20th century palm tree light is estimated at £300-500.
Planter
This rectangular lead garden planter is accompanied by a square planter in one combined lot estimated £800-1200.
Clock and candelabra
This early 20th century gilt metal and white marble clock garniture is estimated at £300-500.
Truncheons
A 40-lot collection of truncheons and tipstaves also feature in this auction.
It includes a broad range of examples, showcasing the aims of the collector who says he was drawn to the "more unusual, interesting and scarcest of pieces, as well as those in the finest condition".
The earliest painted wood example in the collection is a George III truncheon, dated 1796. An impressive 63cm in length and with a bullet-shaped handle, it is decorated with a stylised royal coat of arms and text for St. John, Hackney J. Brown. The estimate is £600-800.
