The five volumes, published by FC & J Rivington for the author from 1802-8, contain 120 hand-coloured plates, many of which are heightened with gum arabic, with the preliminary and accompanying text. They are bound in period quarter morocco probably as issued and contained in a leather-backed slip case.
The lot offered on February 23 came from the collection of Alastair Bradley Martin and sold for $1800 (£1450) against a guide of $800-1200.
