As the Hay-on-Wye catalogue explained, the work appears in a variety of forms but this combination of volumes gives the maximum possible plate count – an engraved portrait plus 1418 plates, 250 of them double-page. Showing some slight marginal staining and browning, but generally clean, this set in restored 18th century calf was formerly at Battle Abbey.
