Shoe flask from The Deptford Pottery

This novelty flask in the form of a shoe features in Barbara Kirk’s forthcoming Antiques & Collectors Items Auction in Penzance.

Estimated at £200-250, it was made at The Deptford Pottery in South-East London, which was formed in the late 18th century and existed throughout the 19th, run by the Parry family.

This shoe flask unusually includes the maker's mark Deptford Stone Pottery.

The base is also marked with the publican's name it was made for,
T Parker, 56 Tooley Street.

The sale will take place on January 28.
