Saturday demo planned in Cork Street

A peaceful demonstration in support of the Save Cork Street campaign will take place this Saturday, October 13 from 11am-12pm outside the offices of developers, Native Land, on Cork Street.

Timed to coincide with Frieze Art Fair,Mayfair residents, artists and dealers are expected to turn out and there will be an outdoor life drawing session.

Half the 22 art galleries on the street will have to move if Native Land and The Pollen Estate's redevelopment plans are approved.

At the time of writing, the Save Cork Street e-petition had around 11,000 signatures, including those of Allan Hollinghust, Quentin Blake, A.S. Byatt, Waldemar Januszczak and Mary Portas.
