20 June 2012Written by ATG Reporter

The fine pictures, silver and jewellery auction at Halls of Shrewsbury on June 27 will offer for sale the coronets and accompanying robes bought in the second quarter of the 19th century from Garrard & Co Ltd and worn by the Earl and Countess of Cavan.

Each coronet consists of a gilt-metal circlet with eight upright stylised leaves, interspersed with eight silver-plated balls raised on spikes.

Accompanied by velvet and ermine robes, the coronets are estimated at £3000-£5000.
