A pair of 19th or early 20th century Chinese porcelain fish bowls found in a barn on the grounds of a local country house are on sale at Reeman Dansie’s two-day auction on July 31-August 1 in Colchester.
Measuring 18 x 21in (47 x 54cm), the bowls
are painted in mirror image in grisaille with leafy branches
bearing large peony blossoms on an Imperial yellow ground.
They are stamped with an iron-red Dayazhai
character mark and are estimated at £6000-10,000.
