Talk at auction rooms brings more help for the hoard

06 April 2010Written by ATG Reporter

CUTTLESTONES auctioneers are to host a talk on the Staffordshire Hoard to help raise funds to conserve the treasure.

The event at the Penkridge auction rooms on Thursday, April 29, will welcome Steve Dean, Principle Archaeologist at Staffordshire County Council, as speaker. He led the dig and will unravel its mysteries during an hour-long presentation that includes video footage and images of the finds.

As reported in last week’s ATG, the £3.3m required to purchase the hoard has been raised, but another £1.7m is needed to fund its conservation, interpretation and display.

To secure your tickets for the talk, email along with your name, address and telephone number.
