McGills at Postcard event

22 September 2006Written by ATG Reporter

THE Bloomsbury Postcard and Collectors Fair is now in its 22nd year and is, say organisers IPM Promotions, the largest monthly postcard fair in the world with more than 120 tables selling all types of paper collectables.

To avoid the congestion charge the fairs are held on Sundays at the Royal National Hotel, Woburn Place, London SW1. Tel: 020 8203 1500.

At the fair this Sunday, September 24, Flitwick, Bedfordshire-based postcard dealer Eric Kent will be bringing some of the Donald McGill postcards in which he specialises. Tel: 01525 752222. More Donald McGill postcards will be at Tennants Auctioneers on Monday September 25 when a private collection of original artwork by Donald McGill (1875-1962) and sold by a private vendor in York who recently inherited them, comes up for sale and is expected to fetch more than £50,000. Tel: 01423 531661.
