The celebratory ribbon was cut by local MP Nadhim Zahawi – also now Chancellor of the Exchequer.
The 4800 sq ft antiques centre with 23 dealers is run by Ron Hodgson and Mark Rhodes who have been in the trade for 40 years. Hodgson’s love of architectural salvage came from renovating a chapel in Wales in 2013, while Rhodes is an avid fairs exhibitor.
Hodgson said: “Although Mark and I have worked in the industry for some time this is the first antiques centre we have opened. There is a high demand for quality antiques in the area and we’ve been incredibly busy since the launch.”
The centre sells a wide mix of stock from 16th century furniture to vintage and Mid-century modern and the duo plan pop-up events including ‘meet the dealer’ evenings.
