Christie's former chief executive Edward Dolman is to become chairman and chief executive officer of Phillips this summer.

CHRISTIE’S have announced some major management changes at senior level with the promotion of Edward Dolman from CEO to chairman of Christie’s International plc and the appointment of Steven Pleshette Murphy to succeed him as the new CEO.

CHRISTIE’S have announced a 24 per cent year-on-year fall in sales for 2009 to £2.1bn.

Christopher Davidge, who led Christie’s International throughout the 1990s and steered it from public to private ownership in 1998, has stepped down. His position as chief executive has gone to Edward Dolman, who has been running Christie’s in America since last summer.
