The Advertising Standards Authority (ASA) is UK's regulator for advertising. It encourages self-regulation through its code of practice and via the guidance it issues as the result of investigations following complaints.

In 2016, the ASA launched an investigation into the way auction houses display their commission rates, leading to a new guidance for the display of fees in catalogues.
