Bishop & Miller

Bishop & Miller are an auction house and valuers in Stowmarket, Suffolk. They were founded in 2015 by Oliver Miller who previously worked at Bonhams and Lockdales.

They hold regular art and antiques sales as well as specialist auctions offering items such as furniture, books, jewellery, silver, toys, ceramics, coins and works of art. They also stage timed and no-reserve auctions.

James Clowes (c.1643-1705), who was born in Astbury, Cheshire, became a Free Brother of The Clockmakers Company in 1671 – the same year as Thomas Tompion, Joseph Knibb, Daniel Quare and Joseph Windmills. He worked first in St Giles in the Fields and then at Saint Ann’s Blackfriars.
