“OUR plan is for one great big southern flea, the biggest the south has ever seen,” says Helen Martin, director of B2B Events.

B2B is joining forces with Sharon Blagrove of Bentleys Fairs to launch the Great Southern Flea & Collectors’ Fair on Sunday, August 6, at a site near Eastbourne in East Sussex.

B2B Events already runs one of the most successful fleamarkets on the circuit at the Malvern Showground, and, in Kent, the antiques and collectors fair at Detling, near Maidstone.

Blagrove organises the salvage and decorative fairs at Knebworth and Beale Park as well as a fleamarket in Eastbourne.

Martin said: “We are really excited about this collaboration. It gives B2B the opportunity of another venture in the south away from Kent.

“It will be great having a summer event and running a flea will give dealers the chance to get rid of dead stock. There will be the opportunity for shopping arcades as well as outside pitches on the site for dealers at reasonable prices.”

Blagrove came across the new fair’s location, Nash Street Farm, recently. She said: “As soon as I saw the site, I knew it was ideal.

“It is directly on the A22 and the fair will be seen from the road, which will attract passing trade. It’s very accessible from the M25 and under two hours from London.”

Blagrove added: ‘I wanted to do something new and exciting with this event and decided to approach Helen Martin and Alan Yourston of B2B Events.”
