A pair of terracotta panels sold to a church in York last week during Harrogate’s Northern Antiques Fair.

The newly rebranded Northern Antiques Fair (previously the Harrogate Antique and Fine Art Fair) has issued a notification that its autumn dates have changed.

Ingrid Nilson of Antiques Dealer Fairs Limited (ADFL) has been appointed director of the long-standing Harrogate Antique and Fine Art Fair.

The directors of the ‘Harrogate Antique & Fine Art Fair’ have cancelled this year’s spring event due to the clash with the Tour de Yorkshire cycle race now taking place on May 1-3.

The merry-go-round of regional antiques fairs around the UK continues and next up is ‘The Pavilions of Harrogate Antiques & Fine Art Fair’ organised by Cooper Events from February 8-10.

They nicknamed him ‘Braaq’ when he was at school in Liverpool, on account of his artistic talent by kids who maybe didn’t know how to spell Georges Braque’s name.

WEST COUNTRY-based Cooper Fairs have bought The Pavilions of Harrogate Antiques & Fine Art Fair from Essex organiser Robert Bailey.

THE currencies of the world will be traded at Maastricht, but no exchange is likely to match that seen on the stand of West Yorkshire porcelain specialist Valerie Clark at Robert Bailey’s Winter Fine Art and Antiques Fair in Harrogate over the weekend of February 4 to 6.

ANTIQUES never have a low profile in Harrogate, but over the next few weeks they will dominate the North Yorkshire town with three fairs in the vicinity and the numerous antiques shops and galleries making a special effort to impress the autumn visitors, traditionally many of them antiques tourists.

FROM April 20 to May 3, West Country organiser Louise Walker staged her 30th anniversary Harrogate Antique & Fine Art Fair and not only did it cement its reputation as one of the very top provincial fairs, it also gave most of the 70-odd exhibitors something to celebrate.

IT is no surprise that arguably our top provincial quality fair should be at Harrogate, which, with justification, many consider the provincial antiques capital. And we know that the spring antiques season is seriously under way when The Harrogate Antique and Fine Art Fair opens its doors at the Harrogate International Centre in the heart of the picturesque North Yorkshire town.

ESSEX organiser Robert Bailey travelled North at the end of December and saw the new year in at Harrogate where from January 2 to 4 he held his Harrogate Pavilions Antiques and Fine Art Fair.
