Artcurial have held summer sales in the principality for the past decade, taking up residence in the Hermitage de Monte Carlo to sell luxury goods and brands.

The auctioneers are marking their tenth series this month by establishing ArtcurialSAM (Societe Anonymous Monégasque) - an enterprise they describe as "a new company under Monaco's law but belonging to Artcurial".

Louise Grether, a Monaco resident and native English speaker, has been appointed as director.

A second winter season of sales will be added to Artcurial's Monaco calendar - the first in January 2016. These will cover the same luxury goods fields and will be timed to coincide with the Monegasque 'season'.

In July 2014 Artcurial's Monaco sales totalled €14m, a 10% increase on the previous summer, with 35 nationalities making 75% of the sales. A Monaco sale of furniture from the Hotel de Paris last January confirmed the potential for growth, with 85% of the sales going to new clients.
