The property surveyors and agricultural consultants Brown & Co have now formally taken over the premises, business and assets of DDM Auction Rooms in Brigg after the North Lincolnshire firm went into receivership last November. The saleroom will operate full time, as before, with staff from the previous company being kept on.

Graham Paddison, having spent 22 years with DDM, will manage the auction room, in close cooperation with partners of Brown & Co, Paul White and Ken Pritchard.

Robert Horner who worked for DDM for 25 years, and who is now an independent auctioneer and valuer, will act as a consultant.

Brown & Co’s calendar of sales has fortnightly general auctions on Saturdays, with antiques and fine art auctions every eight weeks and bi-annual toy auctions. Contact 01652 650172.

In the Cotswolds, David Hancock has taken over the Moreton-in-Marsh saleroom of chartered surveyors Sheldon Bosley. Mr Hancock has worked for the firm since 1964 and, alongside residential sales and lettings, has been responsible for sales of antiques and collectables. In Essex, Paul and Mark Stacey are to revive the auction business of John Stacey & Sons which was established by their grandfather in Leigh-on-Sea in 1947. Sales at Stacey’s will now take place at The Freight House, Bradley Way, Rochford, with the first on Tuesday, March 21 at 10am. Contact 01702 475614.
