Morphets, established in 1895, is an independently owned auction house situated in the centre of Harrogate, North Yorkshire. Morphets places great emphasis on the traditional values of personal service,friendliness and attention to detail alongside a forward thinking approach to business. We hold quarterly Fine Art and Antique sales, bi-annual Fine Wine sales, fortnightly general sales and other specialist auctions. We require an experienced full time Auctioneer and General Valuer to work at a senior level. Your responsibilities will include: conducting auctions with live internet bidding; valuation work for sale, probate and insurance, etc; securing consignments and sourcing new business; preparation of both general and specialist sales; catalogue production and marketing.

The successful applicant must be self-motivated and enthusiastic with a strong work ethic and have the ability to meet deadlines in a high pressure, fast paced saleroom environment. You will have a professional, confident yet approachable manner with excellent communication skills, a broad knowledge of antiques and fine art, be well organised and computer literate. A full clean driving licence and own car are essential.

Simon Charles Auctioneers, one of Europe's largest auction houses, independent family owned company established for over 70 years, with over 16 specialised divisions currently acting on behalf of over thirteen blue chip PLC companies with the sale by auction of new, refurbished and excess stock of various goods and items etc.

The ideal applicant will be an experienced auctioneer able to carry rostrum sales and catalogue with a minimum of ten years experience. A professional auctioneer able to demonstrate a high level realisation value and work at speed and under pressure at time to meet client deadlines etc with experience of selling live online and in the room.

Trainee Auctioneer/Cataloguer (Graduate)

The ideal applicant will be a graduate who wishes to pursue a career within the auction sale room section of the market, you will need to demonstrate a full outgoing personality, confident, positive and with excellent communication skills, be computer literate, able to work on own initiative and able to meet client deadlines with our various divisions including antique/fine art, modern/reproductions furniture/upholstery, homeware, fashion, power tools, plant/equipment, catering equipment, medical equipment, motor vehicles, classic /vintage vehicles and various items/goods etc.
