Baldwin's are looking for a motivated intern to work in our auction department as part of a full-time placement for three to six months. The successful candidate will support the day-to-day tasks required to keep this busy department running efficiently and have the opportunity to learn invaluable skills within a leading auction house.

Our internship is offered for up to six months, with a review after the first month and a view to possible full-time employment. We are currently looking for a candidate to start as soon as possible.

If you're selected, you'll be supporting a very busy auction department in a number of key tasks based around catalogue production and lot preparation. This will include handling rare coins, image production and editing and all associated catalogue production tasks. Additionally you will be required to take part in our auctions and help with the running of our successful sales.

Although our internships are unpaid we will be happy to cover any daily expenses incurred including travel and lunches.

You should be able to communicate at all levels within the business and with a wide-range of potential clients while additional European language skills would be advantageous.

A position for a Part-Time Jewellery Specialist has arisen in the
Bonhams Chester and Manchester offices. You will be based at the Chester offi ce and work as an integral part of the valuation team, reporting to the Regional Director. With the overall aim of expanding the presence of the office's Jewellery Department within Cheshire and surrounding counties, responsibilities will include, but not be limited to, sourcing jewellery for sale in our London salerooms; and carrying out valuations to a high professional standard at the offi ces, on Valuation days within the region and in clients' homes, as appropriate, for auction, probate and insurance purposes.

With a proven knowledge of the auction business, and at least three years experience in the field of jewellery valuation within the fine art auction world. You will have excellent customer service and organisation skills and the ability to cope well under pressure and to meet deadlines. You will liaise directly with new and existing clients, whilst maintaining an up-to-date client database for both buyers and sellers. You will assist in Jewellery Department and offices promotional events, receptions and charity functions as appropriate. Professional FGA or equivalent qualifi cations are required.
