We are looking for an enthusiastic sales co-ordinator to join our Fine Interiors Department. The position is full time, based at our Stansted Mountfichet Auction Rooms.

The ideal candidate will be a self-starter, quick to learn and have a love of antiques and interior design. Excellent organisational and customer relationship skills are essential. Previous experience of working in a similar role in an auction house is a certain advantage though character and skills are more important to the role.

The role will include

  • Managing sellers’ contracts, including gathering all consignments and documents from clients

  • Managing sale activity including vendor and buyer enquiries, viewing arrangements

  • Managing deliveries, organising where lots are stored and dealing with CITIES certificates

  • Managing the catalogue production process including cataloguing, photography, lotting up

  • Liaising between in-house specialists, satellite offices and consultants

  • Managing marketing and social media postings for the sale

  • Working closely with specialists to understand our customer drivers and help maintain an industry leading service

The ideal candidate will

  • Be comfortable talking knowledgeably to clients, and able to handle client relationships throughout the sale process

  • Be confident, professional and courteous in dealing with the public

  • Impeccable customer service

  • Build strong working relationship with the team in the Stansted saleroom

  • Have attention to detail

  • Be a good team worker and be able to work individually

You will be reporting to James Pickup, Head of Sworders’ Fine Interiors Department
