The military commander of the 69th Regiment of the National Guard, who have taken heavy casualties in Iraq, took the decision to withdraw the venue from commercial service for the first time since 9/11 to conduct a major training exercise. Organisers Caskey-Lees, whose events portfolio includes The New York Ceramics Fair and The New York Arts of Pacific Asia Show, say the show, titled Uptown@downtown.nyc will be re-scheduled for 2007.
Armory closed for November show
Plans to launch a new design, antiques and fine art show at the 69th Regiment Armory in New York have been shelved as the venue returns to military service during the proposed November 16-19 show dates.
