The good news comes after several meetings between the Portobello Antique Dealers Association and Thames Water, who are replacing old pipes underneath the road.
Contractors have now promised to clear the road at the end of each week and temporarily fill in and cover trenches before the weekend to allow the market to go ahead without interference.
