Prices up for precious metals

THE price of precious metals surged last week as markets across the world continued to react to the high price of oil and the weak dollar.

Brighton-based dealers Michael Bloomstein reported that prices rose significantly for gold, silver and platinum.

The latter reached £26.20 per gram last Friday while silver was at £7.05 per oz.
