In his speech to open the party on May 27, chairman of the Olympia Book Fair Committee Tony Fothergill recalled nearly 60 years of the event, remembering a time when budget sheets were a mere four pages long and floor plans were a much simpler affair.

The Olympia fair, organised by the Antiquarian Booksellers Association (ABA), is part of the Rare Books London joint initiative with the London International Premier Fair (hosted by the Provincial Booksellers Fairs Association (PBFA).

The coinciding events ensured book and map collectors were spoilt for choice.

The party was sponsored by Antiques Trade Gazette as the fair’s 2016 Official Partner.
