Spink unveil new Hong Kong operation

14 August 2014Written by Ivan Macquisten

Spink have unveiled their new Hong Kong operation, dubbed Spink China, with the first sale, focused on wines and spirits, set for August 20.

Located in the Hua Fu Commercial Building at 111 Queen's Road West in the Sheung Wan district, the Hong Kong headquarters add to the company's growing Far Eastern base, which now also includes Spink Singapore.

Spink cemented their Asian ambitions with the acquisition in 2012 of Phila China, the longest standing Chinese philatelic auction house, and fine wine auction house Oeno China, founded by Anna Lee.

The Hong Kong rooms plan 13 sales a year as well as private treaty deals.

The news is the latest evidence of the burgeoning importance of Hong Kong, following Bonhams' recent opening of their refurbished headquarters there as the hub of a network of offices and activity across Asia.
