Chinese Girl by Vladimir Tretchikoff set a world record for the artist when it sold for £840,000 at Bonhams South African art sale on March 20.
And the most copied picture on Earth is on its way back to South Africa, thanks to the buyer, Laurence Graff, British businessman and jeweller and chairman of Graff Diamonds International, who owns the Delaire Graff Estate near Stellenbosch, where this picture will go on public display with the rest of his art collection.
The estimate was £300,000-500,000.
