19th century scrap album brings intriguing illustrations to light

Consigned to Rosebery’s two-day sale in West Norwood, London on March 19-20 is a late 19th century scrap album containing some 50 illustrations.

This 4 x 2in (11 x 6cm) drawing and four others found within its covers have been attributed to Francis Wheatley (1747-1801), the portrait and landscape artist best known for his Cries of London series.

Estimate £2000-3000.
