07 March 2013Written by ATG Reporter

Originally cast in bronze by Swiss sculptor Louis Weingartner in 1892, this 20th century lead statue by the Bromsgrove Guild entitled ‘Dryad and Boar’ will be offered at Fieldings Auctioneers in Stourbridge on March 9.

Founded by Walter Gilbert in 1898, the Bromsgrove Guild worked in a variety of mediums and is perhaps best known for making the main entrance gates at Buckingham Palace.

Measuring 4ft 5in (1.35m) high, the statue has been consigned from a local estate and carries an estimate of £4000-6000.
